The Combination

It is also possible to combine Botox and hyaluronic acid injections to benefit from both types of wrinkle correction. This approach is particularly suitable for pronounced wrinkles. Typically, Botox is administered first, followed by hyaluronic acid treatment two weeks later for optimal results.

The actual injection of frown lines with Botox or hyaluronic acid takes only a few minutes. After the injection, the skin is cooled to prevent irritation. Patients can resume their social activities immediately after the treatment.

After the Injection

Despite the cooling, the treated area may be slightly irritated for a few hours or up to two to three days following the injection. This effect usually subsides on its own. If any allergic reactions occur, please contact us so that we can provide appropriate treatment.

How Do Frown Lines Develop and How Can They Be Prevented Naturally?

Frown lines are furrows in the skin above the nose in the lower forehead area, caused by repetitive facial expressions. People who read a lot, work at a computer, or concentrate intensively are more likely to develop these wrinkles. In severe cases, frown lines can create an angry expression, making those affected appear less approachable. If frown lines are not yet deeply pronounced, they can be prevented or minimized naturally. Regular facial massages can help relax the skin, and face masks can contribute to skin relaxation. However, the effectiveness of facial exercises is controversial. While these exercises strengthen facial muscles, they can also exacerbate existing wrinkles. A more reliable method to prevent wrinkle formation, especially frown lines, is to start Botox treatment at an early stage. Once frown lines have formed, exercises and masks are generally ineffective in reducing them. In this case, injections with Botox or hyaluronic acid are recommended to reduce the intensity of the wrinkle or smooth it out completely.

How Long Do the Results Last?

Neither Botox nor hyaluronic acid provides a permanent solution for dissolving frown lines. The duration of effectiveness for both treatments varies depending on individual factors, such as how the body metabolizes botulinum toxin or hyaluronic acid. Typically, a top-up treatment is recommended once or twice a year.

The Risks of Treatment for Frown Lines

Injecting frown lines with hyaluronic acid is not entirely risk-free, so we recommend that this treatment be performed only by trained specialists. In rare cases, the skin may be irritated for two to three days after the treatment. Allergic reactions are possible but uncommon. When injecting Botox, there is a small risk that the treated muscles may overreact, temporarily restricting facial expressions more than intended.
